THE PEOPLE WE WORK WITH
Who We Support
For children and adults with developmental delay, autism, intellectual disability, or other support needs, music therapy supports movement, communication, emotional regulation, social skills, and independence. Sessions may include singing, instruments, movement, or songwriting, tailored to each person’s strengths and preferences.
Music therapy can provide a safe space for expression, confidence building, and emotional regulation. For young people and adults experiencing mental health challenges, music can be a bridge to connection and a tool for developing coping strategies.
Music therapy is an evidence-based allied health profession that supports neurological recovery following injury, illness, or degenerative conditions. At Tweedle, Registered Music Therapists use structured musical interventions – grounded in neuroscience – to stimulate targeted brain networks, improve functional outcomes, and support emotional wellbeing throughout rehabilitation.
Our approach is collaborative, compassionate, neuroaffirming, and centred on each person’s goals, strengths, and lived experience.
We support disengaged young people by using music-based, strengths-focused approaches that honour diverse learning styles, sensory needs and communication preferences. Through meaningful musical experiences, we help rebuild confidence, motivation and school connection, improving attendance, participation and wellbeing over time.
We partner with early childhood educators through Kindy Uplift funding to build capability in play-based, music-informed learning, regulation and communication support. Together, we co-create practical strategies and resources that strengthen classroom engagement, educator confidence and positive outcomes for young children.
